FICTION IN A FLASH CHALLENGE 2021. WEEK #37. #IARTG #FlashFiction #WritingCommunity #WritingPrompts @pursoot

Welcome to my blog this week. Each week, Suzanne Burke provides an opportunity for anyone to write a poem, short story, or one-liner based on that photo. All are welcome to join in on the fun. I invite you to go to Ms. Burke’s website and learn about the flash fiction challenges, her books, and who she is a person and an award-winning author. https://sooozburkeauthor.wordpress.com/

When I saw the photo prompt below, I immediately thought about “knock-knock” jokes which I loved when I was a kid. Well, I guess I am still a kid because I came up with some corny jokes. Now you possibly will giggle or laugh, shake your head or raise your eyebrows, or think “that’s a good one,” or give me some credit for even trying!

Did you know that the origin of such jokes might go back to William Shakespeare’s play Macbeth? That is the theory given in Wikipedia, which I shall not dispute.

I NOW CHALLENGE EACH OF YOU TO COME UP WITH A KNOCK-KNOCK JOKE BASED ON YOUR FIRST OR LAST NAME. I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO READING THEM.

FICTION IN A FLASH CHALLENGE 2021. WEEK #34. #IARTG #FlashFiction #WritingCommunity #WritingPrompts @pursoot

Welcome to today’s blog. I am glad you are here and I hope you enjoy my contribution to this week’s Fiction in a Flash challenge.

When I saw this week’s photo prompt I knew immediately what I would write. This time my contribution will be a one-liner.

Hurry up, John, you’re holding up the line,” howelled his mother while she gave him a nudge.

My one-liner is in honor of an outstanding author, John Howell, who has won many awards. His blog is always full of interesting, amusing, or heart-warming messages. He has a wonderful sense of humor and a positive, well-thought out perspective on life. Every day I look forward to reading his blog though I am negligent about leaving a comment each time. (Sorry, John) His website is: https://johnwhowell.com/.

Suzanne Burke offers a variety of photo prompts from which everyone is invited to write a short story, one-liner, or poem. Have fun and join in. Go to her website to learn more about it: https://sooozburkeauthor.wordpress.com/

Please leave a comment. I always enjoy reading and responding to them.

FICTION IN A FLASH CHALLENGE #21. @pursoot #Writing Community #IARTG #ASMSG

Award-winning author, Suzanne Burke, provides a photo prompt and challenges us to write a short story, poem, or one-liner inspired by a photo prompt. Everyone is invited to join in on the fun.

I tried to write a Haiku poem incorporating the last or first names of those authors who have actively contributed to each week’s Fiction in a Flash Challenge. I hope you enjoy this special tribute to Suzanne Burke and the authors who support her.
