MEET KAREN INGALLS

Karen Ingalls is an Author, Blogger and ovarian cancer survivor since her diagnosis in 2008.  She writes and advocates about health/wellness, and various social issues. She was named a winner for the 2013 National Indie Excellence Awards for Women’s Health; a finalist in the 2012 Midwest Book Awards for her book, Outshine: An Ovarian Cancer Memoir.

She won the New Apple Award and the Pinnacle Award for her historical novel about America’s premier sculptor and his love affair with his model, Davida: Model & Mistress of Augustus Saint-Gaudens,

Her novel, Novy’s Son has received recognition as a testament to the important role of a father to his son.

Ms. Ingalls most recent book, When I Rise: Tales, Truths and Symbolic Trees is a series of twelve short stories that center on social and family issues of everyday life. Each story has a truth or lesson, and an association with the symbolism of a tree.

Mrs. Ingalls is a retired RN and has a master’s degree in human development. She is a member of the amazing RAVE REVIEWS BOOK CLUB {RRBC}, RAVE WRITERS – INT’L SOCIETY OF AUTHORS {RWISA}, and Independent Authors Network. Her blog provides a platform for all authors and avid readers, and those interested in outshining life’s challenges.

Proceeds from the sale of any of her books go to ovarian cancer research.

    1. Thank you for considering me to do a short course on writing, but I will have to decline. Most of my time and energy go toward promoting ovarian cancer awareness and fundraising. Then, I squeeze in time for writing.

  2. Just came from reading your comment on my blog. I’m married to a two-time twenty-seven year cancer survivor so I have a special place in my heart for survivors. Your bio is inspiring.

    1. Congratulations to your husband for his 27-year survival. We hear too much about those who have passed which creates more fear and misunderstanding about cancer. Thank you for sharing and also for becoming a follower.
